Cult survival horror title White Day: A Labyrinth Named School is being remastered and ported to PS4 for the PlayStation VR headset.

The first-person game tells the story of a student who sneaks into a school at night time to deliver candy to his crush, and finds himself locked in with ghosts and possessed janitors.

Players must avoid the systems-driven enemies while cooperating with fellow students to survive.

Originally developed by Korean studio Sonnori, the game was released in 2001 in its home country, but a western release never eventuated.

Only as abandonware, in the wake of Sonnori's closure, did White Day gain its cult status, with fan-written translations making it playable in English (though still technically illegal to download).

ROI Games will handle the port, which hits mobile and PC this month in Korea.

It is also working on an English translation, for eventual international release on the PS4.
