Sony Computer Entertainment president Shuhei Yoshida has shed some light on The Last Guardian's absence from recent trade shows.

Yoshida assured Gamespot that development was going well, but said the company was holding back due to spoilers.

"Because it's about the story, we don't want to show too much."

The long-anticipated Team Ico game, originally revealed in 2009, made a big splash at E3 2015, but was notably absent from Sony's conferences at Tokyo Game Show and Paris Games Week.

"We wanted to show that it exists, it works, it runs. It’s not like we won’t show anything before launch, but I think we will try to limit what we show about the game," Yoshida said.

The Last Guardian has a release window of 2016, and will be a PS4 exclusive.
