Paradox Interactive has acquired White Wolf Publishing from previous owner CCP Games for an unspecified cash amount.

The deal adds IP like Vampire: The Masquerade and World of Darkness to a portfolio that already includes titles such as Europa Universalis and Cities: Skylines.

Paradox now owns all of White Wolf's properties, including their tabletop, CCG, PC game, and book incarnations, but White Wolf will operate as an independent subsidiary.

"Like Paradox's games, White Wolf's properties have dedicated, passionate communities," said Paradox CEO Fredrik Wester. "While there are similarities in spirit, White Wolf's IPs have very different themes than Paradox's titles, and deserve their own brand and team."

"We have great respect for White Wolf's gaming worlds and see big opportunities for their expansion in the future under our new subsidiary."

White Wolf merged with CCP Games in 2006; no reason has been given for the EVE Online developer's decision to sell.
