Square Enix has cancelled its unpopular “Augment Your Pre-order” program for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
In a post on the game’s website, it explained that it was shutting down the program due to the “resounding amount of negative feedback”.
The program allowed players who pre-ordered a choice of several bonuses for every tier of pre-order numbers the game reached internationally.
The bonuses included digital books, music, and an in-game mission, and the final tier would have resulted in Mankind Divided being released four days early.
Now anyone who pre-orders the game will receive all of the bonuses. However, the release date will remain February 23 for everyone, regardless of pre-order numbers.
