Gear VR, the first retail product from Oculus, is launching later this year.

Developed in partnership with Samsung, the Gear VR is a virtual reality headset for the 2015 line of Samsung mobile phones including the Galaxy Note 5, S6, S6 Edge, and S6 Edge+.

The first model of the Gear VR had a limited release last year to developers and early adopters. The new retail model contains several improvements including a 22 percent weight reduction.

It does not feature positional tracking, and will be available in the US in November for US$99, with a global release “shortly after”.
