After a whopping three years in Early Access, Prison Architect will finally be released on October 6.

Full details regarding the contents of the final release will be unveiled this weekend at EGX, the United Kingdom’s largest gaming expo.

The game's version 1.0 premiere will be live streamed at 3am NZT on Sunday September 27, via EGX's YouTube channel.

Prison Architect is a prison simulator in which players design and run a prison. It has been incredibly popular on Early Access, selling almost 1.3 million copies and earning a user score of 94 per cent.

Since it debuted in March of 2013, it has received 36 major updates, including a mod system and a random event mechanic.
