Dungeon Defenders 2 is coming to PlayStation 4 next week in pre-alpha form.
The tower defense game has been in Early Access on PC since December 2014, and will launch for PlayStation 4 on September 29.
According to developer Phillipe Asher, Dungeon Defenders 2 is a free-to-play game “supported by ethical micro-transactions".
However, the only way to access the alpha is to buy currency bundles from the PlayStation store. The prices of these bundles have not yet been announced.
Asher warned that the game is still in development, and that content updates would come to the PC first before rolling out to the PlayStation 4.
One feature available for the PlayStation 4 version next week is two-player local co-op play.
Sony has been publicly discussing paid early access on PlayStation 4 since July last year. Meanwhile, Microsoft unveiled its own paid alpha system at E3 this year with the Xbox Game Preview program.
