Facepunch Studios is quietly working on a sequel to Garry's Mod, studio founder Garry Newman has revealed.

In an interview with PCGamesN, Newman was asked if he'd ever consider raising the physics sandbox's US$10 price tag.

Newman replied, "We wouldn't raise the price now, I mean we’re kind of working on a sequel, so it’d be stupid to the raise the price, really."

"We’re looking at having more VR stuff in it - that’s the big point of it. And it won’t be called Garry’s Mod 2."

An official announcement has not been made, and given Facepunch's tendency towards long-term development processes, it may be some time.

Garry's Mod was released as a Half-Life 2 mod in 2004, and has since sold over six million copies as a standalone release.
