Three of the six Steam games that have sold more than a million copies this year are Early Access tiles.
According to Steam Spy data, Grand Theft Auto V, Cities: Skylines, Rocket League H1Z1, Besiege, and Ark: Survival Evolved have all sold more than a million copies since the start of the year.
The latter three are still in Early Access, which demonstrates the popularity of the model despite only a quarter of Early Access games making it to full release as of November last year.
Two Early Access games have sold more than 500,000 copies as well: Killing Floor 2 and Stranded Deep. The Witcher 3, Dying Light, Total War: Attila, and Pillars of Eternity are also a part of that group.
It’s worth noting that The Witcher 3 is also available on GOG.com, the DRM-free platform owned by the game’s developer, CD Projekt. The company revealed last week that the game had sold six million copies across all platforms.
