Warren Spector will deliver the opening keynote at PAX Australia this year.

The legendary developer is best known for creating Deus Ex, but has also produced other iconic titles including System Shock, Thief, Wing Commander, and Disney's Epic Mickey.

PAX Australia's opening speeches are termed "storytime," and take the form of retrospectives and perspectives on the gaming industry.

Previous keynote speakers have been Monkey Island creator Ron Gilbert and Bethesda PR guru Pete Hines.

The keynote launches the weekend-long convention at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre the morning of Friday, October 30th.
