Upcoming game The Flock will end unconventionally – when the game's population reaches zero.
Each time a player dies in the asymmetrical multiplayer thriller, the population drops by one.
Once the in-game population reaches zero, the game will "never be purchasable again" and an as-yet unannounced finale will be triggered, after which the game will go offline permanently.
A student game that was allowed to skip Steam Greenlight entirely, The Flock casts players in teams of three and five as "one of the agile hunters that make up the Flock".
The goal is to become, and survive as, the hunted Carrier while performing objectives involving the use of light.
The Flock will release on Steam in Q3 of 2015.
