The two planned expansions to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will add up to "the length of The Witcher 2, says game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz.

Tomaszkiewicz will direct both expansions, the first of which - entitled Heart of Stone - will last ten hours and take place in No Man's Land, near Novigrad and Oxenfurt.

The second expansion, Blood & Wine, will tell a Polish folk story in an entirely new location - "a new, really big hub with new monsters, new story, new challenges and also totally new environment," the developer told Eurogamer.

Asked whether the expansions will alter gameplay, Tomaszkiewicz was cagey, saying "maybe we will add some new gameplay features," but adding "most of the time it will be just new content."

The two expansions will add to an already-huge base game that boasts over 100 hours of content without expansions.

Heart of Stone launches in October for US$9.99, while Blood & Wine drops in the first quarter of 2016 for US$19.99.
