Former Assassin's Creed producer Jade Raymond has opened a new Electronic Arts studio in Montreal.

The studio, Motive, will first work on the new Star Wars game from EA's other recent prominent hire, Uncharted creative director Amy Hennig.

Raymond will also now oversee Visceral Games, and both studios will work "in close quarters with the BioWare team" on the game, according to Motive's press release.

In addition to creating the new Star Wars game, Motive "will be a creative-driven team, incubating entirely new IP."

Said Raymond, "There is no recipe for what a game should be and the only limit is the team's imagination. The endless possibilities, the talented people I get to work with and the passion that gamers add to make each game their own is what motivates me. Everyone in this industry has a motive, an idea they want to bring to life, a new idea they'd like to see in a game. It’s what’s so great about this industry. And it’s what I want to get back to."

Hennig's and Raymond's Star Wars game is yet to receive a formal title or a release date.
