A new FlatOut game is in development for a release in 2016.

Kylotonn Entertainment is developing the "multi-million dollar" title for publisher Strategy First.

Neither Strategy First nor Kylotonn have any credits as high-profile as FlatOut, but Strategy First director Emanuel Wall is bullish on the project.

"FlatOut is our most important franchise. There is a strong vocal community that have numerous constructive ideas and suggestions on what they would like to experience in an all new FlatOut. We would like to invite anyone who is a fan of FlatOut to be part of the process."

Konami and Bugbear Entertainment's first two titles in the demolition derby franchise were met with much praise; later instalments, not so much.

The new FlatOut is due for release next year on new-gen consoles and PC.
