The Warcraft movie is basically finished, says director Duncan Jones.

Speaking at the San Diego Comic-Con, Jones gave a status update on the anticipated blockbuster, and the status was "we have pretty much a finished movie."

"I have under 10 VFX shots which are being finished off right now, they need to be dropped into the movie, but we're kinda done," said Jones of the post-production process, which features heavy visual effects work.

Jones expressed confidence in the movie, saying "I know that it's good. I've shown it to people that I trust [...] and they've said it's good."

If the film proves a success, it could become the first instalment in a new trilogy.

Jones and Blizzard's Chris Metzen "have a very good idea of what story we could tell in three films, given the opportunity."

The Warcraft movie is set to release in theatres on June 10, 2016.
