A member of the notorious black-hat hacker group Lizard Squad has been found guilty of a whopping 50,700 charges related to computer crime.
But Finnish 17-year-old in question, Julius "zeekill" Kivimaki, won't be going to prison for the charges, which include fraud and harassment.
Instead, Kivimaki has been handed a two-year suspended sentence, and has been ordered to "fight against cybercrime".
Former Sony executive John Smedley, whose plane was grounded last year thanks to fake terrorist threats from Kivimaki, said the hacker was "a sociopath and will get what's coming to him."
Meanwhile, Blair Strater, whose family was harassed financially and personally (including SWAT attacks) over a three-year period by Kivimaki, said he was "absolutely disgusted" by the ruling, feeling the sentence was too lenient. "The reality is," said Strater, "Julius Kivimaki will never be made to pay for his crimes."
Kivimaki was one of those responsible for the major Xbox Live and PSN attacks that left many console players offline last Christmas.
At the time, members of Lizard Squad told Daily Dot they did it "for the lulz".
