Last year’s Gauntlet reboot is getting an expanded release on PlayStation 4.
Gauntlet: Slayer Edition will feature a new realm, new hero weapons and abilities, new monster types, and improved visuals.
It will also come complete with improved game mechanics that increase team dynamics and strategy, said developer Arrowhead Game Studios co-founder Malin Hedström.
“We’ve been shaping up a lot of the assets in the game, both Characters and Environments, as well as improving on the game mechanics,” said Hedström.
“This time around, we wanted to explore the Heroes and their Abilities more in-depth giving them a bigger toolset for players to explore, as well as a new Game Mode in which to exercise their rights as self-proclaimed monster slayers.”
One example: since equipment now plays a larger role in the game, the loadout mechanic has been reworked so that all four players can shuffle their gear simultaneously, regardless of game mode.
Gauntlet: Slayer Edition will release on August 11 for US$20.
