Uncharted 4's single-player component will run at 30fps, while the multiplayer is aiming for 60fps, Naughty Dog says.
Following a stream of an extended version of the game's E3 demo, the developers confirmed the single-player game will run at 30 frames per second in 1080p resolution.
Co-lead designer Anthony Newman cited development time as the reason for sticking to 30fps.
“We just realized that, for the game we wanted to make, to make the best game possible, [30fps] was just something that we had to do," Newman said. “If we wanted to hit a locked 60fps, there’s a lot of optimizations in the environments that would have to happen. This would make each level take longer to make."
"It’s a feature, like any other, and you have to consider it against everything else."
As it lacks the single-player game's intense cinematic sequences, the multiplayer component is still targeting 60fps.
Like the studio's remaster of The Last of Us and increasingly more-numerous other titles, Uncharted 4 will also include the popular Photo Mode feature.
Uncharted 4 is set for release for PS4 in 2016.
