The closed alpha of Star Wars: Battlefront went live today, sparking a flurry of leaks of gameplay details and footage.
The footage, none of which has stayed up online long enough to provide a reliable embed, depicts a raging battle on Hoth, replete with enemy bombers and AT-ST walkers.
Other details were gleaned from poking around in the game's UI and file structure.
The alpha only contains two maps, Hoth and Tatooine, though interestingly the Tatooine map is available in both "noon" and "dawn" versions.
Cryptic references to weaponry were also found, including weapons likely unique to characters such as Boba Fett.
A first for the series, Battlefront also contains emotes, including applause and an SOS.
Likely of most interest to fans, the file structure references a wide range of vehicles, though they may not necessarily all be playable: the X-wing, Tie Fighter, Lambda Shuttle, Y-wing, Tie-Bomber, Corellian Corvette, Nebulon B Frigate, Imperial Star Destroyer, Mon Calamari Capital Ship, AT-ST, AT-AT, Tie Interceptor, and the 74-Z Speeder Bike.
Star Wars: Battlefront launches November 17 on new-gen consoles and PC, and will likely include all of the above features and more.
