The Pip-Boy smartphone mount that comes with the Fallout 4 Collector's Edition is strictly standard-phone only, says Bethesda.

“As we wanted to stay faithful to the dimensions of the in-game model, any smartphones larger than the models listed will not fit inside the wearable device,” the publisher said on its blog.

Supported models include iPhones 6, 5/5s, and 4/4s; Samsung Galaxies 4 and 5; and other standard-sized smartphones via a customisable foam insert.

Owners of larger phones and "phablets" will have to settle for using the companion app outside the glove housing.

The Pip-Boy phone mount caused a sellout rush of preorders for the Collector's Edition when it was announced; it is possible that owners of aircraft-carrier-sized phones may cancel their pre-orders following this announcement.

Fallout 4 launches on November 10 for new-gen consoles and PC.
