Dontnod released new information on its vampire RPG Vampyr today.

Alongside a concept teaser, the Remember Me and Life Is Strange dev roughly outlined the game's setting and how it will play.

A "deeply immersive role-playing experience steeped in vampire mythology," Vampyr is set in an early 20th century London beset by Spanish flu and vampires.

Players take the role of a military surgeon, also a vampire, in a story moulded by player decisions.

The player character must feed on NPCs' blood regularly to survive. Each NPC in the world is unique, and their deaths are permanent, making feeding a strategic mechanic.

The game also features melee, ranged, and supernatural combat, a shared health and energy pool, and a crafting system.

Vampyr is slated for release in 2017 on new-gen consoles and PC.
