Microsoft announced the professional-grade Elite controller for the Xbox One at E3 2015 this week.

Aimed at professional-league gamers and the absurdly wealthy, the controller features greater build quality and more features than the standard Xbox One controller (which also received an upgrade recently).

Its thumbsticks, buttons, and D-pad can be customised or even replaced by players looking for the perfect touch.

It also sports four additional bumpers on its undercarriage, which can be bound to any button (in up to two hot-swappable configurations) so that the player's thumbs don't have to leave their thumbsticks.

Macros and button combinations, however, are not supported, as they would give Elite players an unfair advantage in online play.

The Elite controller is priced at US$150 and will be available in October 2015.
