Activision announced its latest Transformers title, the Platinum Games-developed Devastation, at E3 2015 this week.

The game is a third-person brawler, likely featuring the Bayonetta and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance developer's trademark fast-paced action.

Taking a giant robot step away from Michael Bay's intricate reinventions of the characters, Devastation features cel-shaded Transformers akin to the 1980s cartoon.

It also brings back voice actors such as Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime, and Frank Welker as Megatron and Soundwave.

Transformers: Devastation is set to launch later this year on new-gen and last-gen consoles and PC.
