Ubisoft Montreal debuted their latest IP, medieval actioner For Honor, at the studio's E3 conference today.

The multiplayer (and singleplayer) combat game puts players in one of three factions - knights, vikings, or samurai - fighting for control of the battlefield.

Players do battle as heroes of their faction amongst teams made up of other players and AI-controlled soldiers, in a seemingly similar approach to Titanfall.

When fighting with melee weapons, a new control scheme called Art of Battle makes a direct connection between controller inputs and fighting moves onscreen.

Ubisoft promises the game will deliver both frenetic hand-to-hand combat and tactical battlefield strategy, in the tradition of team-based games and medieval warfare alike.

For Honor is being developed for new-gen consoles and PC. No release date has been given.
