Arkane Studios are developing a sequel to Dishonored, and it brings the option of male or female protagonists.

Dishonored 2 will give players the choice of playing as the original game's protagonist Corvo Attano, or the new protagonist (and returning character) Emily Kaldwin, the studio announced in Bethesda's E3 showcase today.

Both characters have unique lethal and nonlethal abilities for use in combat and exploration. Based on the trailer, Emily appears to have some kind of tentacle grappling ability, as well as the ability to transform into a smoke creature to squeeze through difficult environments.

Dishonored 2 also expands the "whalepunk" world of Dunwall and delves deeper into the mythology of the otherworldly Outsider.

The original Dishonored was a unique and entertaining IP debut, and like the original Assassin's Creed, it suggested great things ahead for subsequent titles. This first subsequent title will release in early 2016 for new-gen consoles and PC.
