Koji Igarashi's Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, a spiritual successor to Castlevania, is officially the most-funded video game on Kickstarter.
The Castlevania spiritual successor beat out previous record-holder Torment: Tides of Numenera, soaring past US$4.5m (NZ$6.4m).
With 24 hours left on the clock, Igarishi has added further stretch goals to the gothic action-platformer, including an additional minigame for PC and consoles, and a procedurally-generated roguelike mode for endless gameplay.
The Kickstarter closes at 3PM Saturday NZST. Pledges of US$28 or more will score backers a digital copy of the game when it releases in March 2017 on all major platforms.
