Today Microsoft unveiled a new 1TB Xbox One console along with a redesigned controller.

The Xbox One 1TB console, which sports a new matte finish and comes with a physical copy of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, will be available in New Zealand from June 24 for NZ$649.

The new controller comes in two flavours – camouflage and black – and as expected features a 3.5mm stereo headset jack.

According to Microsoft, its bumpers have been fine-tuned for more consistent performance anywhere along their surfaces, and its firmware can be updated wirelessly.

It also brings with it the option to adjust headset volume, mic monitoring, and voice and game audio balance through the Settings menu on the Xbox One, and the controller’s audio quality and maximum volume have been increased.

All existing controller accessories will work with the updated controller, including the Stereo Headset Adapter. It will cost NZ$100.

An Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows is also on the way. It will allow players to use Xbox One controllers wirelessly with Windows 10 PCs, laptops, and tablets, and will cost NZ$40.

The 500GB Xbox One console got a permanent US$50 price reduction in the United States, but that won’t apply here.
