Australian-made ‘narrative MMO’ Wander is coming to PlayStation 4 and Steam on June 4, developer Loki Davison has announced.
Wander is set in a peaceful fantasy setting populated by shapeshifters, and it encourages players to reveal more of the story by cooperatively exploring new areas of the game world.
Players can discover four avatar forms in the game, including a walking tree and a flying griffin.
“Anyone who thinks flying will simply be a matter of just pressing a button to get from point A to point B is in for a pleasant surprise, as it will require a little bit of skill and practise to master,” wrote Wander writer and character designer Crystal Flinn on PS Blog.
“Luckily, practicing flying is ridiculously fun, as I can’t think of too many things more satisfying than successfully locating and gliding towards a thermal to have it lift you triumphantly into the air!”
Communication with other wanderers is achieved drawing symbols, which are taught to the player when they find special stones throughout the world. Players draw using the PlayStation 4’s touch pad or a mouse.
