A thief in the UK has nicked a lorry filled with copies of upcoming Wii U paint shooter, Splatoon
As reported by Eurogamer, the vehicle was on its way from Nintendo's European headquarters to GAME's UK warehouse when it disappeared.
That leaves GAME with exactly zero copies of the game, and some criminal mastermind with many copies of Splatoon’s Special Edition, which contains the game's rare Squid Amiibo.
GAME has told customers it will now be unable to fulfil their preorders.
"Due to these extraordinary circumstances, we will unfortunately not be getting replacements for these missing items," it said in an email to affected customers.
"We have no option but to substitute the Splatoon + Squid Inkling in your order with the standard version of the game.
"You will still receive your Inkling Girl and Inkling Boy Amiibo. We will be discounting this edition by £10 from £52.99 to £42.99 to apologise for this inconvenience."
