Nintendo will soon host its first "World Championships" competition in 25 years.
Qualifiers are scheduled for May 30, and a final will be held in Los Angeles (and streamed online) on June 14, the Sunday before E3 officially begins.
The first and only Nintendo World Championships were held back in 1990. Players competed in portions of Super Mario Bros., Rad Racer, and Tetris for ultra-rare cartridges.
Following the World Championships, Nintendo will hold its annual E3 presentation at 9am on Tuesday June 16 Pacific Time (4am Wednesday June 17 NZT).
Once again, the company will not hold a traditional press conference, but will instead stream something as per its Nintendo Direct broadcasts.
It has already stated that there will be no announcements regarding its NX console.
