Tom Clancy's The Division is now targeting an early 2016 release, Ubisoft revealed in its most recent financial report.
The game is expected to release in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2016, which equates to the quarter ending March 31, 2016.
Last year, an insider said that 2015 was an optimistic release window for the game.
"What you need to know, it's an RPG online game,” said Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot.
“Those games take more time to be completed and we want to make sure we have enough feedback from consumers from alpha and betas to polish it as much as possible before the launch so it comes to the market with the best possible experience.
"We expect less sales in the financial year than if it would have launched in the Christmas season, but on the whole we expect as much sales over its lifespan."
Massive Entertainment is leading development on the title, with Ubisoft Annecy studio (which has worked on the multiplayer components of several Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell games), Ubisoft Reflections, and Red Storm also chipping in.
Ubisoft also has an announced triple-A game slated for release around the same time as The Division.
Just Dance aside, all of Ubisoft’s upcoming games will only be released on new-gen platforms.
