The next Assassin's Creed is called Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, according to Polygon.

The game’s name was revealed on marketing material obtained by the site.

According to the marketing material, the game will "transport millions of gamers to an astonishing recreation of London during the Industrial Revolution where they will find themselves immersed in a game world they'll have to see to believe".

It stars an assassin named Jacob Frye.

The game will be detailed by Ubisoft via a livestream on Wednesday May 13 at 4am NZT.

Judging by the game's official website, it's coming to last- and new-gen consoles, PC, and Wii U.

Last year a leak – confirmed by Ubisoft – showed that the game would set in Victorian London.

"It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption, are leaked,” said Ubisoft at the time.

“And, while we certainly welcome anticipation for all of our upcoming titles, we’re disappointed for our fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public.”
