Banjo-Kazooie spiritual successor Yooka-Laylee has already raised seven times its Kickstarter funding goal, mere days after its pitch was posted to the crowdfunding platform.

Yooka-Laylee is in development at Playtonic Games, which boasts some of the creative talent behind Rare hits Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong Country.

Thanks to the money raised so far, almost all of the game’s stretch goals have been met, so the game will include boss battles for every level, an assortment of local co-op and versus modes, character designs from other former Rare artists, and more.

The game casts the player as Yooka and Laylee, a platforming duo with complimentary skills.

Playtonic is promising memorable characters, lots of secrets, a “dream” soundtrack, and more.

Yooka-Laylee is planned for release on Windows PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Wii U late next year. Check out the Kickstarter here.
