On Friday, a bomb threat cleared out a restaurant that was hosting a Gamergate gathering.
Police evacuated the Washington, USA restaurant following a bomb threat made via Twitter against the group, which included prominent Gamergate supporters Christina Hoff Sommers and Milo Yiannopoulos.
The area was searched but nothing was found. Police are investigating.
Sommers and Yiannopoulos had travelled to the event from London. It was to be the first official Gamergate event in the US.
Yiannopoulos said Gamergate critic Arthur Chu had emailed the restaurant earlier asking it to cancel the event.
"I don't go to bars and restaurants that pass along my emails to people who hate me and I encourage my friends not to do so," Chu said on Twitter.
He denied being involved in any threat against the gathering.
