PlayStation 4 firmware update 2.50, codenamed Yakimura, goes live today and comes loaded with a number of highly anticipated features.

Yakimura included Suspend/Resume, which allows users to suspend any game by putting the PS4 into rest mode, then quickly resume by pressing the PlayStation button on the dualshock controller.

Users can now also back up and restore the PS4 hard disc to and from an external USB drive. Hard disc drive data includes settings, saved data, screenshots and video clips as well as games, patches and download data.

Social features have also been improved. Users can now search for Facebook Friends with a linked account. Friend Requests can also be parcelled with Real Name requests. Party creation has also been streamlined. There are fewer steps necessary to set up a party

Yakimura will automatically take a screenshot every time a user earns a trophy. The update also makes it easier to share Trophy information over social networks via the Share button.

Yakimura also includes some usability and accessibility improvements that make it easier for users with impaired vision and limited manual dexterity to play.
