A turn-based strategy title that was part-funded by two successful Kickstarter campaigns and a stint in Early Access has finally seen a full release.

Master of Magic spiritual sucessor Worlds of Magic launches today on PC, Mac and Linux, with a PlayStation 4 release to follow later this year.

According to developer Wastelands Interactive, the 4X game “delivers the well-known and loved vibe of the original and combines its classic elements”.

It runs on the just-released Unity 5 engine, and features:

Eight playable races
Eight planes of existence in a procedurally generated universe maps
More than 10 terrain types
Almost 30 world resources to exploit
D20 battle combat mechanics
Units that gain experience
Over 80 military units
Over 40 wandering and summon-able units
Over 40 world features to explore and conquer
40 heroes and champions
Over 400 spells divided into 13 spell circles

World of Magic is available for US$40 on Steam.
