Sony has chosen not to renew its The Last Guardian trademark in the United States.

The abandoned trademark does not mean Sony has cancelled development on the game, however. This is the second time the company has allowed the trademark to lapse.

In August last year, Sony said The Last Guardian was still going forward.

“There are no new announcements. It’s still in development,” said vice president of Sony Worldwide Studios Europe Michael Denny . “It’s something we’re very, very excited for, and I understand why people want to ask all the time, because it’s an exciting project from an exciting team."
