Bungie's Destiny and Blizzard's Hearthstone have earned holding company Activision-Blizzard US$450 million in GAAP revenue since both games launched last year. Destiny has 16 million registered users, and Hearthstone has 24 million registered users.

Activision-Blizzard announced the figures in its quarterly financial results call earlier this morning.

Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime reconfirmed that Overwatch is expected to go into beta this year. In addition, more than 9 million users had signed up for the Heroes of the Storm beta since it launched last month.

World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor pushed the venerable MMO's subscriber base back up to 10 million, said Blizzard. The expansion sold 3.3 million copies in 24 hours.

Elsewhere at Activision, the company announced that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare sales are up "considerably" on Call of Duty: Ghosts. Digital downloads for Advanced Warfare were double those of Ghosts.

In total, the Call of Duty franchise has now made Activision US$11 billion.

“This year, we expect to expand our franchise portfolio to 10 blockbusters, up from five franchises at the beginning of 2014,” said CEO Bobby Kotick.

“Our amazingly talented teams will continue to produce the world’s best content for gamers. We have a growing portfolio of the very best franchises and great confidence in our future.”

In 2014, Activision-Blizzard reported net revenues of US$4.41 billion, slightly down from US$4.58 billion in 2013. Net revenue from digital channels were US$1.90 billion, which accounts for 43 percent of the company’s total revenue.
