Sidescrolling indie shooter Broforce will not be coming to Xbox One due to the platform's strict parity rules.
Free Lives Games creative director Evan Greenwood said Sony made the studio an offer it couldn't refuse. The deal with Sony rules out any possibility of the game appearing on Microsoft platforms, however, as the company insists that no game appear on PlayStation before it appears on Xbox.
"As far as I know Microsoft has a clause in their contract where they won’t accept an indie game if it launches on Xbox after Playstation," Greenwood told GamingBolt.
[email protected] director Chris Charla said Free Lives Games did not approach the company about the possibility of bringing Broforce to Xbox platforms.
"As far as I can tell from checking this afternoon, they have never contacted [email protected] about coming to Xbox, so our policies don't really come into it, not really sure why they brought that up," said Charla on NeoGAF.
Broforce is available on Steam.
