Riot Games has snapped up more Blizzard talent as former World of Warcraft lead systems designer Greg Street joins the League of Legends developer.

Street announced his departure from Blizzard for a “new and exciting” opportunity in November.

Street came to Blizzard in 2008 from Ensemble, where he had worked on the Age of Empires franchise.

Riot has developed a reputation for successfully courting Blizzard staff, a fact that appears to have caused the Irvine-based developer of franchises including Warcarft, StarCraft and Diablo to behave somewhat uncharacteristically.

For its part, Riot recently attempted to ban its League of Legends pro players from live streaming competing games - particularly those by Blizzard - until community outrage forced it to back down.
