The patent paperwork for what looks like a new Move controller has surfaced online.

Filed in June 2012, the patent application concerns something called a “Flat Joystick Controller”, which resembles a Move wand but also includes a touch pad.

The PlayStation 4’s default controller, DualShock 4, has limited Move-like capabilities across two axis, but its distance from the PlayStation Camera cannot be detected.

The original PlayStation Move controller is compatible with the PlayStation 4.
