More than seven million people played games at the same time on Steam over the US holiday weekend, a new record, reports Valve.
Just before 10 AM ET on December 1, PC gaming service Steam reached at 7,190,578 concurrent users.
Valve’s Dota 2 and Counter Strike: Global Offensive were the most popular games on the service, followed by The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Civilization V, and Football Manager 2013.
In October, Valve announced that Steam has 65 million active users.
That’s an increase of 30 percent from October 2012.
The service also celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, one that has seen Valve announce a range of living room PCs running on a proprietary Linux-based operating system, and a gamepad that features two clickable trackpads rather than analogue sticks.
