PC gaming and retail portal Steam now has 65 million active users, says Valve.
That’s an increase of 30 percent from this time last year.
The service also celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, one that has seen Valve announce a range of living room PCs running on a proprietary Linux-based operating system, and a gamepad that features two clickable trackpads rather than analogue sticks.
“The main goal of Steam has always been to increase the quality of the user's experience by reducing the distance between content creators and their audience," Valve boss Gabe Newell said.
“As the platform grows, our job is to adapt to the changing needs of both the development and user communities. In the coming year, we plan to make perhaps our most significant collaborations with both communities through the Steam Dev Days and the Steam Machines beta.”
