Eidos-Montreal has announced a project called Deus Ex Universe, an “ongoing, expanding and connected game world built across a generation of core games”.

Studio head David Anfossi unveiled the project on the Eidos Montreal blog, and said that it will consist of several new Deus Ex titles for PC and console, along with graphic novels, books, and apps for mobile devices.

“It’s a commitment on our part to deliver meaningful content that expands the franchise on a regular basis and to deliver a deep conspiracy that will span several connected Deus Ex games, creating a more immersive and richer experience than ever before,” he wrote.

Anfossi confirmed that the most of the team that created Deus Ex: Human Revolution are already working on the next core Deus Ex title for PC and next-gen consoles.

“It took us four years to learn how to create a unique Deus Ex experience with Human Revolution and it was important for me to keep this knowledge within the franchise,” he wrote.

The backdrop of the series would be trans-humanism segregation, Anfossi added.

“The people in this segregated class have reshaped their environment, nostalgic for their ideal of Cyber Renaissance,” he wrote.

“This dark and dystopian vision sets the tone for things to come in Deus Ex.”

Anfossi also confirmed that the director’s cut of Deus Ex: Human Revolution – which contains second screen functionality via SmartGlass, the PS Vita, and the Wii U GamePad – will be out on October 25 for the Wii U, PS3, Xbox 360, and Windows PC.
