Electronic Arts’ latest financial results show that the vast majority of its revenue is now from digital sources.

The company’s fiscal results for the first quarter of 2014 show that digital sales made up more than 75 per cent of its total revenue (US$378m) for the period.

Of those digital sales, 35 per cent (US$177m) came from downloadable content and free-to-play games, and 30 per cent (US$103 million) came from mobile – a 73 per cent increase on last year's figure.

“As both Larry and mentioned, our quarter was notable for the high percentage of revenue attributable to digital games and services,” said EA COO Peter Moore.

“To that end, Apple was EA's biggest retail partner measured by sales, and that is a first.”

EA’s overall non-GAAP revenue came in above the expected US$450m at US$495m.
