The world record high score for classic arcade title Missile Command has been broken, 31 years after it was set.

Last week Victor Sandberg of Sweden spent 56 hours, 5 minutes, and 53 seconds amassing a score of 81,796,035 – enough to claim world record holder status for the game.

In 1982, previous record-holder Victor Ali took more than 52 hours to garner a high score of 80.5 million points.

The Missile Command high score is the second longstanding video game record to be broken this year.

In February, George Leutz played Q-Bert for 84 hours and 50 minutes to break its world record high score, amassing 37,163,080 points in the process.
