A man on eBay is offering up for sale a massive collection of video games and consoles that he calls “the entire history of video games” for a shade over half a million US dollars.
The gaming collection, which spans over 30 years of technological advances, includes more than 6850 games, 330 consoles, 220 controllers, and 185 accessories such as rumble packs, the memory cards, battery packs, and so forth.
“After a life spent collecting video games I decide [sic] to sell off my entire collection,” wrote the seller.
“I just have too much things and the space to store them is finished long ago... also I realized that if I want to play at least half of my games, I should live two or three entire human life...”
The man claimed it has taken him two month's worth of eight-hour working days to catalogue everything and make a complete inventory.
Over that time he took more than 10,000 photos of his wares.
Rare games in the collection include Dracula X Rondò of Blood, Radiant Silvergun, Magical Chase, Ginga Fukai Densetsu Sapphire, and “many others”.
The lowest possible bid for it all is US$550,000 (AU$534,851), and the auction has seven days left to run.
The seller is not interested in selling single items, but rather suggests that buyers consider opening a gaming museum.
