Sony Computer Entertainment has acquired cloud-based gaming company Gaikai Inc.
The acquisition was cemented on Jun 30 for the sum of US$380 million (NZ$473 million).
By obtaining Gaikai, SCE will establish a new cloud service, “ensuring that it continues to provide users with truly innovative and immersive interactive entertainment experiences”, it said.
