Days Gone delayed to avoid "crowded February"

Days Gone delayed to avoid "crowded February"

In an update on its PlayStation Blog, Sony has confirmed that Days Gone has been delayed.

Sony noted that the move was made to avoid the "crowded February timeframe", and confirmed that Sony Bend's open-world Zombie action title will now release on April 26.

Before its move, Days Gone was set to release on the same day as EA's shared-world shooter Anthem, and first-person action title, Metro: Exodus.

It's been quite some time since we got our hands on a new title from Sony Bend, with the studio's last release being the excellent Uncharted: Golden Abyss for PS Vita. You can't fault them for wanting to get Days Gone right, and these few extra months will definitely allow for a little extra polish.

Dust off the holy water, Priest Simulator coming in 2019

Dust off the holy water, Priest Simulator coming in 2019

Simulation games have seen massive poularity over the last few years. We've had everything from Farming Simulator to the more outlandish Goat Simulator and now, we'll be able to step in to the shoes of a man of the cloth.

Ultimate Games has announced Priest Simulator, an FPP (First Person Priester) in which players will take on the role of a town priest, helping fellow townfolks with everything from Sunday service to exorcisms.

One of the creators, Michał Jod goes on to say “Life is the art of selecting the lesser evil. Such will also be the case in our game, where we will solve problems in different ways or not solve them at all. If a resident asks us for help, then, of course, we will be able to help that person but the game will also offer alternatives less beneficial for the needy. We’ll kill the devil and receive from the client an envelope with a reward or we allow the demon to depart and we obtain an ability associated with black magic. The decisions will be reflected in the reputation indicator and we invest the money in developing the parish, car upgrades and better weapons”

Check out the Red Dead Redemption 2 launch trailer

Red Dead Redemption 2 is only one week away from it's October 26th launch. After what feels like years of waiting we finally have a launch trailer to add fuel to the blazing hype fire.

The new trailer, while not as long as the previous two, does a great job of introducing players to some of the world and characters many of us will likely end up spending hundreds of hours with.

Sean Bean is ready to die yet again in Hitman 2

IO Interactive and Warner Bros. have pulled back the curtain on the first Elusive Target for the upcoming Hitman 2, and it's an actor that everyone seems to love to kill. Sean Bean will star as disgraced MI5 agent, turned assassin for hire, Mark Faba.

In a humorous bit of self-awareness, Bean's character aka "The Undying", is seen chatting to a suspiciously hairless therapist. Faba states "I never expected to be like this, but they keep trying to kill me, you know? I've cheated death countless times. I'm like a stage magician. I know all the tricks. They think they're clever, but they've got nothing on me. I even managed to make them think I'd been blown up."

During the trailer, Faba boasts about how he's managed to elude death and is quite the seasoned killer himself. He goes on to show how he can use everyday items to dispatch his victims, like a toy robot flash bang, an explosive pen and a pair of curiously strong headphones. Players will be able to vote on which of these weapons will turn up in the game for them to use on unsuspecting targets.

Red Dead Redemption 2 rumoured to ship on 2 discs

Red Dead Redemption 2 rumoured to ship on 2 discs

If a leaked game cover is to be believed, Red Dead Redemption 2 will be shipping on two discs.

I haven't seen any other instances of this generation's console titles needing more than one disc, thanks mostly to the use of dual-layer Blu-ray discs on both Xbox and PlayStation.

Each disc can hold up to 50GB of data, which has been more than enough so far, but Red Dead's need for 105GB of HDD space seems to have killed that streak.

The massive install would also explain why Rockstar is giving digital customers a whole week to download their copy in the leadin to launch next Friday.

CoD physical sales continue to decline with Black Ops 4

While Activision might be celebrating a new record in Day One digital sales for the Call of Duty franchise, physical sales have dropped significantly.

According to sales data from the UK chart – and analysis by Eurogamer – Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has sold 50 percent fewer physical copies than last year's WW2. Meanwhile sales are also down 59 percent from Black Ops 3.

Physical sales for Call of Duty have been on the decline for quite some time. Seeing an all-time high with Modern Warfare 3 in 2011, the only uptick was seen in with WW2's release.

EA hints at a Command & Conquer remaster

EA hints at a Command & Conquer remaster

If the reveal of Command & Conquer's mobile game Rivals left you unenthusiastic, don't worry – it seems EA has noticed, and has something in the works for the franchise's die-hard fans.

A recent Reddit post from EA producer Jim Vessella hints at an upcoming remaster.

"Following the reveal of Rivals, we heard you loud and clear: the Command & Conquer community also wants to see the franchise return to PC," Vessella wrote. "We’ve been exploring some exciting ideas regarding remastering the classic PC games, and already have the ball rolling on our first effort to celebrate the upcoming 25th Year Anniversary."
