Brian Wood, lead designer on Relic’s Company of Heroes Online, has died in a car crash after his vehicle was hit by an alleged drugged driver on a highway near Seattle.

Wood, 33, died after Jordyn Weichert, 21, lost control of her speeding vehicle as she was trying to take her sweater or jacket off, reports Seattlepi.

Weichert’s front seat passenger, Samantha Bowling, 22, was holding the wheel of the Chevy Blazer at the time.

Weichert’s two back seat passengers, Jacob Quistorf, 25, and Francis Malloy, 26, also died.

Wood is survived by his six months pregnant wife, Erin, 31, who was also in his car. She is recovering in hospital.

Speaking with Seattlepi, a state trooper at the scene said, “I've been here since August of '96, and I haven't seen a wreck like this. I've seen significant damage ... but as far as injuries and loss of life, this is the biggest one I've seen since I've been here.”

A State Patrol spokesperson said Weichert could be charged with vehicular homicide and vehicular assault and will be moved to Island County jail when she is discharged from hospital. Bowling could also face a possible vehicular homicide charge.
